The usual sad drab Saturday night
Not a knock on my door
Before I can count to one, there’s somebody on the phone
Wondering if I wanna have some fun
Sure I be asking why, and who the hell are you
It doesn’t matter any way
As long as you’re on the line, and I’m all alone
Who gives a damn about where we’re going.
Been hoping and praying for many years
Never more
May be it’s someone who really cares
You never know
I see no reason hanging around here no more
Refr.
You better stand up – go reaching for the door
I’m about to make a break, I won’t be late, and that’s for sure
I know, no matter who you are, - who wins, who dares,
I got to catch this falling star
I’m hitting this fine, fine Saturday night
Never seen this before
Before I can count to one – you’re suddenly standing there
I’m still wondering if it was you or the sun that shone
But I’ll be asking why, and who the hell are you, it doesn’t matter any way
As long as you’re by my side, and I’m not all alone
who gives a damn ‘bout where we’re going
Been hoping and praying for many years
Never more
May be it’s someone who really cares
You never know
I see no reason hanging around here no more
Refr.
You better stand up – go reaching for the door……..
